LCA of mobility
The mobility sector is rapidly changing, with the ermergence of new means of transport (electric vehicles) and new ways of travelling. These changes implies the revision of current functional units and the use of robust methodologies to compares these new transport means.
LCAs are usually focused on existing products or products that are currently developed. In this framework, practioners conduct so-called "attributional" LCAs. However, what happens when a decision, such as promoting a product at a large scale, affects other economic sectors or changes consumers habits? "Consequential" LCA is the solution to assess these situations.
Uncertainties and sensitivity
LCA uses a large amound of data coming from various sources that can be associated with potential uncertainties. Besides, LCA is strongly dependent on the hypotheses that are made at the beginning and the results can therefore strongly vary by only changing one parameter. The search for uncertainty sources as well as their quantification and the accounting of variability and sensitivity of the results implies working across different domains, from LCA to statistics and data treatment.
Geographical information systems
The economy is getting more and more globalized and the products you develop are using materials coming from many different places in the world. Ecostatis brings the power of geographical information systems (GIS) to improve the knowledge of your products as well as to improve the environmental relevance of your LCAs. Besides, Ecostatis offers you innovating visualisation solutions using the geographical data that are coupled with your LCA data.
LCA results are too often only presented as simple histograms or piecharts and are therefore complex to interpret. Ecostatis helps you finding the best ways of displaying and communicating your LCA results.
